As the COVID-19 pandemic continued to escalate, healthcare workers and frontline professionals faced a severe shortage of protective face shields and essential medical equipment. According to the World Health Organization, the most effective way to prevent the spread of the virus is by following strict precautionary measures. Since the virus primarily transmits through respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing, face shields serve as a critical barrier, protecting the eyes, nose, and mouth, key entry points for infection.
Recognizing the urgent demand for protective gear in the UAE, Proto21 repurposed its entire 3D printing facility to focus exclusively on the production of 3D printed face shields. Utilizing HP Multi Jet Fusion technology and medical-grade biocompatible PA12 Nylon powder, we were able to scale up production efficiently, delivering high-quality protective equipment at a reduced cost per unit. Our face shields are currently being used by healthcare professionals across the region and are designed to be reusable, allowing for easy cleaning and disinfection to help address the ongoing supply challenges.
Features of our 3D Printed Face shield:
Our 3D printing team is busy producing and assembling 2000 3D printed face shields in a week. We are also 3D printing other devices like ventilator splitters, face masks, door openers on demand.
