Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing process which is one of the most accessible and widely used form of 3D printing. In FDM, a three-dimensional object is created by selectively depositing melted material layer by layer from the bottom by heating and extruding thermoplastic Filament. The materials used are thermoplastic polymers and come in a filament form and are suitable for detailed functional prototypes, durable manufacturing tools & low-volume manufacturing parts.

Supported production-grade thermoplastics are mechanically and environmentally stable. Almost no post processing is needed, the product is quickly ready for use. Broad range in Materials makes it easier and economical to switch materials for printing which means printing of complex models isn’t a challenge anymore. Complex geometries and cavities that would otherwise be problematic become practical with FDM technology. More economical compared to all other types of 3D printing technologies as there is no much post processing involved other than support removal.
